Step-by-Step: How to Check if Your Pool is Registered

Step 1: Visit the QBCC Pool Safety Register Website
Start by heading straight to the official online register.

Step 2: Search by Property Address
You will be prompted to enter your full property address. Make sure to use the exact address details as recorded on your property title to ensure the most accurate search results.
Step 3: Review Pool Information
Once you submit the search, the system will display any pools associated with that address. Look carefully at the results:
- Does your pool appear in the list?
- If it appears, does it show a current Pool Safety Certificate attached to the registration?
If your property address pulls up no results, or the information is inaccurate, you need to take action.
What to Do If Your Pool Isn’t Registered
The good news is that if your pool is missing from the register, you can quickly and easily register it yourself online.
The registration process is entirely free of charge for pool owners and can be done through the same QBCC website. You’ll need a few basic details ready:
- Your full address and property owner information.
- Details about the pool, such as whether it’s an in-ground or above-ground structure.
- The date it was built or installed.
A critical note on pool type: Remember, the requirement to register applies to all pools and spas capable of holding water to a depth of more than 300mm. This includes temporary, demountable, and inflatable pools, as well as regular hot tubs and spas. If it holds water above that depth, it must be registered.
How to De-Register a Pool
If you have lawfully decommissioned or removed a pool, you must also remove its record from the QBCC register. This is done via a written request.
To remove a pool from the register, send an email to [email protected]. Once your pool record is removed, you will receive a confirmation email.
Important Compliance Note: In addition to removing your pool from the register, a pool must lawfully be decommissioned, which may require building approval.
